Review of Rough Night (2017) by Ravi N — 03 Oct 2017
Probably my cinema groups highlight of the summer. Full of laughs and with regular flow.
The comedy manages to take a rather morbid concept and make it funny. Which is an accomplishment that paid off.
Each female lead had a distinct character and held their own screen-time. This thankfully made up for the weaker suggestive lead by Johannson - which may well have been due to such a strong cast.
A witty transformation is present in this film, on the gender roles as the ladies are the party girls on a wild hen, while the male characters adopt the role of the relationship-centric & classy stag. This was a clever transformation of roles.
