Review of Rough Night (2017) by Maya F — 22 Jun 2017
This movie is good but not great. Still, I actually laughed out loud many times during this movie because it is so edgy and meta. When I watched other chick flicks like Bridesmaids or Bridget Jones's Baby, I didn't laugh once and maybe even cringed.
I like the mix of actresses in this movie since some are up-and-comers like Ilana, Zoe, and the one who played Alice. Johannssen and McKinnon are more established and also very good actresses. The first half of the movie was funnier then the second half, which just got silly with all of the unbelievable mix-ups and plot twists.
How did the first thief find their house in the first place? It was never properly explained and doesn't make sense. Seeing goofy, sweet Phil Dunphy play a rich, lecherous open marriage sex fiend with Demi Moore was also fun.
