Review of Rosewood (1997) by Donnell M — 21 Jan 2010
This film is a raw and unadulterated portrayal of its title massacre of 1923. The visually, it has a feel of an old western. No extreme special effects and CGI. This filmâ??s strongest asset is the raw emotion that it evokes while you watch it.
One is very hard pressed not to feel anger, antagonism, resentment, sorrow, amazement, and shock. John Williamsâ?? excellent score adds to the emotional roller coaster. It is said that destroying each other is what humans do best and this film does not sugar coat how senseless, irrational, and baseless that element is.
