Review of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead (1991) by Elliot G — 01 May 2008
I'm ashamed to say that I'm not sure this was a stage-to-screen adaptation that needed to be done. The grand scheme of the piece is preserved, but I felt like Stoppard eschewed some of my favorite bits of dialogue.
It's a play about stasis, about characters not being involved, so with that in mind, what Stoppard did is worth seeing.
