Review of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead (1991) by Lobelia S — 30 Sep 2008
A fabulous existential romp by Tom Stoppard! Two characters from Shakespeare's Hamlet are dropped into the action of the play even though they can't remember how they got there or remember who Hamlet is.
Richard Dreyfus does one of his better turns as the Player...but for me it was a wonderful young Gary Oldman who steals the whole thing. A terrific film of a great play, directed by Stoppard himself.
