Review of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead (1991) by Cheri D — 27 Dec 2008
I CANNOT believe it's taken me this many years to finally get around to seeing this movie. (Thank you, IFC!) For a Shakespeare lover, it was SO satisfying. Stoppard is a writing and directing genius; the elements of this film are expertly woven.
Oldman and Roth's performances were a welcome reminder of what good acting is supposed to look and sound like. And, even though I'm not a huge Dreyfus fan, I found his performance here noteworthy.
