Review of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead (1991) by Rosemary T — 01 Apr 2009
This is the definitive portrayal of the Hamlet character. Everything about Iain Glen's performance is exactly as I have always imagined the character.
Gary Oldman and Tim Roth are incredible in this film. The rapid dialogue flows seamlessly between the two of them. They manage to be cynical and ingenuous at the same time.
The dialogue itself, whether original Shakespearean given new meaning, or the material created for the film, is pure genius.
