Review of Rosemary's Baby (1968) by Maxwell S — 29 Sep 2012
Among the greatest horror films of all time. So surreal and refreshingly powerful. I loved John Cassevetes in this, as well, even though I prefer him as a writer/director. I wouldn't say this has too much of a connection to The Exorcist in morals, atmosphere or purpose, and they are both very masterful for different reasons, so I wouldn't connect them in any way, except for them each being one of the greatest of the satanism-themed films, though I may be discounting a few classic.
Actually, I would put this on par with Polanski's Repulsion. And "Knife In The Water" being the best of all the ones I mentioned.
