Review of Rosemary's Baby (1968) by Andrew S — 16 Oct 2013
A fantastic conspiracy film, and one of the more frightening tales I have watched in awhile. I would describe it as a Twilight Zone toned story that is stretched out to a feature length film. Not exactly a horror film, Polanksi's 60's picture builds suspense in the absence of blood and guts, an exchange that I would prefer.
Something about the star's ignorance to what is actually occurring sent shivers down my spine, and Polanski and Farrow achieve Rosemary's mindset with flying colors. A masterpiece in its own regard, I'd recommend this film to anyone who enjoys a good story with grave results.
