Review of Rosemary's Baby (1968) by Doctor S — 30 Nov 2012
One of the greatest cinematic examples of the slow-burn mindfuck from a director who is a grandmaster in that element. The greatness of this film can be measured by the facts that:
1) every time I see it playing on TV, I watch it through and still get the same increasingly uneasy feeling in my gut; and.
2) for a run time topping 2:15 with hardly any action scenes, violence, nudity, or other added "spice" I am never bored for even a moment due to the fantastic direction and cast.
Thus, the singular ever-tightening vice that is Rosemary's Baby will always remain among my Top 20 All-Time Favorites (#13 at time of this review).
