Review of Rope (1948) by Jeff W — 18 Jan 2011
I love this film! Set entirely in an apartment, for thrills two prep students murder one of their friends, and must keep his dead body secretly hidden in a chest thats out in plain sight during a dinner party.
The stage play style of this film is very effective, Hitch used clever moments when someone would pass by the camera to change film stock, this gives the it a look as though its being filmed steadily.
The one time their is a cut, its used very effectively as though to change the perspective of the film. Brilliant!!
