Review of Rope (1948) by Sujit O — 24 Dec 2013
Rope which arrived before the classics such as Vertigo and Psycho, uses the traditional story arc which Hitchcock used to use in his previous films, which included a protagonist or multiple main characters being in one set throughout the length of the whole movie.
The suspense they pull off is unreal and I really cannot imagine of even one director who could pull off such an interesting piece of dialogue intense film extending almost one and a half hours. Although the later rear window is my favourite out of these set of Hitchcock classics, this one is no less amazing!
