Review of Rope (1948) by Lee B — 13 Jan 2011
Tightly and perfectly written by the master of suspense, Rope is a film that pushes the boundaries of film very far. It's brilliance is in part due to the great acting from Stewart, Dall and Granger, the nerve-wracking suspense and the downright brilliant idea of a one scene film.
Hitch's long takes are now legendary, and they are utilized to perfection in Rope. This is a great film.
