Review of Rope (1948) by Robyn M — 22 Jul 2012
Rope has a subtle but orginal storyline, unlike now a days. Movies require special effects, loaded with Graphic Violence and of coarse lots of nudity.
Alfred Hitchcock had class, and the rare talent for creating the perfect suspenseful timing in his films. Also deverting nudity and profanity from his films. Rope was Hitchock's and his wife's (in charge of Cinemagraphy) first film through Paramount Pictures on US soil and James Stewarts come back after his small departer to serve in the United States Air force. The Success was phenominal, for both. Creating a longtime career with Universal.
