Review of Room in Rome (2010) by Tsz Yeung Yvonne P — 23 Oct 2010
I have high expectation for this one. I am looking for a breathtakingly beautiful study of two people's connection. It did let me down a little bit. The film is well crafted, poetic, but for some strange reason I don't feel the intensity of their characters.
Yes, there are a few sex scenes, but I think I forgot they were naked after the first 20mins. The sex is not erotic at all, it's just like having a slice of toast, so empty. Clearly, they are both running away from something.
But in the end, I really don't care anymore. I think the soundtrack and all the small touches of details saved the uninvolving patchy plot. Not bad, but pretty average.
