Review of Room at the Top (1958) by Christina G — 02 Nov 2008
Very good film starring Laurence Harvey as an accountant who just moved into town and wants to marry a wealthy man's daughter, but at the same time he falls in love with the older, married Simone Signoret (in her Oscar winning role).
A nice script, though it's a little long it's never boring, and Signoret is indeed wonderful. I also found out that Supporting Actress nominee Hermione Baddeley has the shortest nominated performance ever in this film (though she did do a nice job).
Heather Sears got pretty annoying later on ("Do I look different? Do I? Do I? blah blah), but it's still a good movie.
