Review of Room 237 (2012) by Jj M — 21 Aug 2013
Two things I learned from this documentary: (1) There are people out there who look so deep into films that it is probably bad for their health; (2) The majority of these people have not got a clue about Kubrick's mindset back when he created The Shining, not a fucking clue.
Interesting stuff here and there but ultimately we learn nothing from it. The Shining is a very good film because it was deliberately constructed with a veil of mystery. I never realised it would have so many people obsessed by the mysteries over 30 years on though.
No surprise that everyone attributed with a voice over on the documentary are American. Nice music on the end credits.
