Review of Room 237 (2012) by Theodore F — 26 Apr 2013
2/10 - I was very much looking forward to seeing this flick, but after about 10min in, I realized I was in for a painful, raging 90min.
I swear to God (if there is one, which there isn't), the wackjobs in this movie, are the most annoying fucking losers, reaching to the extremes of desperation for their bullshit, wacko conspiracy theories for The Shining. According to these fucking idiots, it's about the Holocaust, Indian injustice, Nazis, Moon landing being faked, sexual subliminal messages, incest, and a bunch of other bullshit, that have nothing to do with the movie. Why can't people just watch fucking movies, and enjoy them.
The amount of times this fucking clown says, "Genocide of the Native Indians"... gotta track this fucking tard down and remind him, there was NO GENOCIDE. They're still here.
People who rip apart movies, to look for some non-existent message and meaning, have really got to get something tangible in their lives, cause obsessing little things like "Oh, the skiing poster, isn't a skier, it's a Minotaur." SHUT THE FUCK UP! It's a Goddamn fucking skier! Kubrick was a brilliant filmmaker, but really... Minotaurs and Indian genocide? Really? I'm a moon landing being faked conspiracy theorist. I agree that the original moon landing was faked. Kubrick leaving "hints" that he was the director of the moon landing in the movie? Intentionally? Laughable. I understand when people say I'm reaching on the moon landing, but The Shining being a "metaphor" for the moon landing faking? Uhm.... no.
Some of the things brought up, are based on Kubrick being a great filmmaker... then they go off the rails, like typical nutjobs always tend to do. If Kubrick was still alive, I don't know if he'd be screaming, pissed off about how WRONG these clowns are, or laughing at their complete and utter stupidity. This movie is infuriating. Anyone coming out of this movie, thinking they're enlightened about anything other than some nutjobs rantings are just as nuts as the pathetic ramblings in this movie.
If you want to be aggravated beyond rational thought, then check this out. But really... Avoid'r.
