Review of Room 237 (2012) by Abby J — 02 May 2013
Necessary companion to The Shining if you have ever seen it, and the contributors offered some fascinating theories and analyses while revealing hidden things that you have probably never noticed about this movie.
However I don't quite understand all the critical acclaim, and why IFC had such a hard-on over this. I will say they really nailed the point about Kubrick creating opportunities for synchronistic events to occur through this film, and the visuals created when they played the movie backwards and forwards at the same time was really amazing.
Those two things confirmed in my mind that The Shining is truly an extraordinary work of art.
