Review of Room 237 (2012) by Dan C — 20 May 2013
What a complete LOAD of twallop!
On paper this film seemed right up my street but pretty much straight away I realised it was just a bunch of wallies with far too much time on their hands seeing stuff that isn't there! My view is you can see anything in anything if you look hard and you're desperate enough. So Kubrick just put loads of random stuff in his movies to see what some idiot came up with for it's "meaning"! He must be in stitches!
One of the main theories rested on the fact room 237 was numbered so because Kubrick faked the moon landing pictures and that's how many 1,000 miles away the moon is from the earth. The only problem being is that we have known for over a 100 years the moon's 243,000 miles away so, if it was a nod to the moon landing, should it not be room 243!?
Seriously, such nonsense by idiots it's certainly not worth a watch! Theories are one thing but without fact or logic, well, they're not theories are they!
To think, I could have sat there and watched The Shining instead! Good film that is!
Obviously, though, the wallpaper on this DVD cover is similar to the wallpaper in Father Ted's bedroom so the director is telling us this is all just a joke anyway! (well, that's my theory and a better one than you'll get in the movie).
