Room is an emotional roller coaster of a film but a really good one. Room is the story of a woman who was kidnapped and had a child by her kidnapper. She has been locked up for 7 years. The room is about 20x20 and very meager.
She has raised a well-mannered, smart boy who is now 5. Her captor comes in every night to have sex with her. She places Jack in the closet while her captor is there. They have survived on little food and almost no sunlight.
She tells Jack stories to keep him entertained. One day, she comes up with a plan that gets Jack out and eventually leads police to the shed where she has lived for 7 years. The second part of the film is them learning to live again.
Such a moving, disturbing film, but so good.
