Largely flawless adaptation of the celebrated novel, driven by intensely limpid performances from Larson and Tremblay. The best adaptation of its kind since (its evil twin,) 'We Need To Talk About Kevin' and a rebuke to Jackson's gaudy and spendthrift adaptation of 'The Lovely Bones'.
Deftly manages to transmute a thriller about a horrible crime into a recovery fable and a paean to resilience.
I found the piano score a little intrusive and conventional. The film is moving enough without requiring further manipulation.
