Review of Romeo Must Die (2000) by Tony Z — 25 Dec 2008
I just rewatched this and it holds up as best hip-hop/kung-fu version of Romeo and Juliet you will ever see. Jet Li is always fun to watch, but his on screen chemistry with Aaliyah is hilariously nonexistent (mostly because it's obvious Li doesn't understand a word he's saying).
Definitely worth watching for the Corey Yuen choreographed fight scenes, but is no Fist of Legend or Fong Sai Yuk.
