I was thirteen years old when I walked out of the Cinema at the end of this movie with my best friend trying to turn my face away from him so he would not see the tears in my eyes. All of a sudden I understood what the ado was about William Shakespeare.
John McEnery's tortured portrayal of Mercutio was pure genius and Olivia Hussey was innocence incarnate.
