Review of Romeo and Juliet (1968) by Jonathan M — 28 May 2011
My favorite adaption of Shakespeare's famous play! It has become a classic of the ages! Much better then the DiCaprio and Danes version! The costumes are gorgeous, the acting is superb, the drama is astounding, the story is a memorable piece of work by one of the most famous authors to ever live, the story/movie that can make anyone cry (unless its the cheezy DiCaprio version), the death is an absolute tear jerker; makes me cry every single time! Though, it did take a while to get used to the fact that Leonard Whiting looks like Zac Efron mixed with Elijah Wood.
But, it's a wonderful, fantastic, amazing, classical, sweet, romantic, emotional............movie for all generations! (minus that one scene...don't let young children watch that!).
