For me, there are two sides when it comes to Shakespearian work. On one hand I find all his play's diolage and plots to be somewhat dated and hard to read. On the other hand I greatly appreciate all of his stories. They all are so intelligent with so many great meanings and morals. Director Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 adaption of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet actually is a fairly good film in my mind.

I still do believe the movie could have been improved. Every one of Shakespeare's characters has definetley become iconic, and there are so many fast-talking, mumbling, iconic characters in this movie that it may be difficult for some to follow what is happening within the plot. It seems asthough the only way to make a Romeo and Juliet movie would be to add in exact lines and scenes from the play right? Well the reason I didn't love the movie was because of this. The main reason I sometimes found these scenes boring was because of all the old-English diolage. That doesn't mean it is a boring movie, I just thought it tended to drag in certain scenes. Kind of like how this review is tending to drag...or how my sentences tend....to drag after I've had a few.....too many vodkas and I start reviewing movies like some kind of a psychopath or somethin.... Umm... What was I talking about, oh yeah so remember to put the bodies in a plastic bag from BJs and not that kind from Stop&Shop because they break easily, then you can dump them in the lake by the left football field, not the right....oh wait a minute.... I'm reviewing another movie, aren't I? Forget I said all that, I thought I was E-mailing my partner....okay what was I reviewing again? Oh yeah Romeo and Juliet.

Let me try to conclude this review. If you are watching this movie and you think everything in it is so typical (boy and girl fall in love at first sight and they're being held back from being together by whatever people they live around...or something) then you are wrong, this play was written hundreds and hundreds of years ago, long before any of those fucking awful romantic comedies were made, like Attack of the Clones.

So you should Check out Romeo & Juliet it's a solid, perfectly-put-together movie although still somewhat disappointing. And try not to laugh at the death scene. Stop laughing! That shit is emotional ;D I think its on Netflix streaming. If it's not, well, what can I say? your reading this too late.

Now I'm going to go meet my parter in crime...er...friendship.
