Review of Romancing the Stone (1984) by Stephen C — 17 Feb 2010
Forget the crappy sequel ,This Indiana Jones for grown ups has plenty going for it not least the chemistry between Douglas and Turner and a marvellous scuzzy turn from De Vito.
Zemicks really should go back to live action films becuase here he really excels with plenty of cliffhanger action and plenty of comic asides.
The two leads really crackle and spark off each other and Alfonso Arau has a neat cameo as a 4x4 drving maniac.
Eevn though the film is over 20 years old it still feels fresh and vital as it did back in 1984.
A great action film.
