Review of Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired (2008) by Andrew P — 18 Jun 2009
Here we get a very dry version of two Polanski events: the death of his wife Sharon Tate, and his trial for the rape of a minor. The film casts a very vague shadow over the former and devotes most of the movie to the latter.
We get the same old "he's so mysterious" type of stuff, which we already knew. The film ultimately paints him as a victim of the legal system - there should be a documentary made on the judge who presided over his trial - even though he admits that he did have sex with an underage girl after plying her with pills and booze.
