Review of Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired (2008) by Peter E — 20 Feb 2009
An excellent and OBJECTIVELY told documentary that shows us how the Polanski legal case unfolded. I knw bits and pieces and most people feel that he just flew the coop and ran away...this is true, but when you actually know all the sordid details and what Polanski had to go through, I am sure many would have done the same thing as this visionary director.
There are some great commentaries from Polanski's defense lawyer, friends and collaborators, police officers -- and a very open and honest lawyer who was prosecuting the case. Everyone (for the state and in Polanski's defense) tells just how starry-eyed and immoral the judge assigned to this case was.
You almost feel bad for what he had to go through here. An eye-opening documentary that sheds much light on this scandalous hollywood story.
