Review of Roman Holiday (1953) by Giselle 'Wednesday' C — 09 Nov 2008
Aside from it's so-called exotic locale and starring celebrities, I really didn't find anything too special about this film. Roman Holiday managed to nicely veer away from a typical Hollywood ending, but the script's slow pace and lack of dramatic action made it come off as somewhat predictable.
Audrey Hepburn's portrayal of the cutesy royal princess playing hooky, although charming, just doesn't seem enough to merit that Oscar.
