Review of Roman Holiday (1953) by Jonathan O — 21 Mar 2011
A real classic. I was inspired to watch this movie after I saw a Vespa collection at a brewery in Salt Lake City (this movie made them famous in the USA). The theme and story are not that original. Itâ(TM)s kind of one of those Prince and the Pauper kind of stories where royalty wants to know what itâ(TM)s like to be "normal.
" Gregory Peck is a great lead character. He isnâ(TM)t as strong and morally defined as some of his other characters, but a classic gentleman at the same time. Audrey Hepburn is a mix of gorgeous and cute in one package.
The two really play well off each other and make for a moving, semi-romantic film. Itâ(TM)s a good date night movie.
