Princess Anne (Audrey Hepburn) one day gets enough of greeting politicians and important persons, day out day in. During a visit in Rome, she's just had it, and tipsy by sleeping pills that are given to her, she runs away. Joe (Gregory Peck), an aspiring reporter, picks her up, believing she's drunk and lost.

He has no particular intentions by bringing her home, just feeling that somebody ought to take care of her, since she's almost knocked out. By quite a coincidence, Joe, the next day misses the interview he is supposed to have with Princess Anne. Soon he realizes that it's actually Princess Anne, who is at the time sleeping in his apartment, so he can still save his ass and save his job if he do the interview.

Pretending that he isn't reporter (but secretly taking paparazzi pictures and writing notes), and Anne pretending that she is just a regular girl, they explore Rome together (and fall in love of course:).

The chemistry between the handsome Gregory Peck and the lovely Audrey Hepburn is just perfect, and it's a pleasure to watch. They were very good friends off-screen and Peck demanded that Hepburn was to be billed over him at the theaters, despite the fact that she was still an unknown name.

The director; William Wyler, also happens to be one of my all-time favorite directors.

One of my favorite scene is when Joe tries to stop his friend, Irving (Eddie Albert) from revealing that he knows Anya's real identity :).

This is one of the most charming and cute romantic comedies I've ever seen! The first movie I saw with Audrey Hepburn.

This movie made a movie star of Miss Hepburn.

Before Roman Holiday, you can only spot her doing extras in movies like The Lavender Hill Mob, Nous Irons á Monte Carlo, Monte Carlo Baby ect.

Could be that it gets a little bit corny and sugary at times, but who cares?

How could I ever give this movie a lower rating than 100%?

Amazingly enchanting, and yet so innocent romantic movie.

This is a must-see for everyone!
