Review of Roman Holiday (1953) by Monsieur R — 30 Sep 2010
Newspaper man Gregory Peck meets Audrey Hepburn (Best Actress, 1953) incognito as a lonely princess. Listed as a comedy, it never really struck me as such. More of a romantic comedy/drama, this unlikely plot has to be accepted to make things work.
Gregory Peck, hardly a romancer (to me), is cast as Hepburn's opposite and "lover", so to speak, because at the time it never got that involved.
Well worth your time, and might be watchable again in your future. Peck is his usual impecable self, no pun intended.
