Review of Roman Holiday (1953) by Mario H — 05 Apr 2013
One of the great romantic comedies, "Roman Holiday" deals with the timeless story of a princess escaping her royal confines and going on a brief holiday. Audrey Hepburn is a knockout in her American debut (and only Academy Award-winning performance) and Gregory Peck is his classically understated self.
Both are wonderful together, creating one of cinema's best romantic couples. "Roman Holiday" has a few faults of its own, but they can be easily overlooked. It's touching, funny and thoughtful, and it has one of the most poetic endings ever.
