Review of Roma (2018) by Trip T — 19 Jan 2019
I'm a big fan of Alfonso Cuaron but this work doesn't deserve the laudable reviews it's receiving. There is no real narrative to speak of. Roma appears to be a film study practicing techniques that might be found in '30s/'40s film but the use of these techniques have no real impact.
There are a number of scenes that appear to be randomly injected into the film and have no place and add nothing to an already sparse storyline.
