Review of Roma (2018) by Sam C — 13 Jan 2019
The finger print of the director was overbearing. From long drawn out shots to overwrought symbolism. The camera work was redundant and after awhile annoying. I suspect the director knew that his talent was limited in their acting ability and he tried to hide that fact by using super wide, and distant shots.
Because of this it was difficult to find any compassion or empathy toward the subjects of the film. I love Black and white films , but this film deserved to be shot in Color.
