Review of Roma (2018) by Leopoldo%20 S — 18 Dec 2018
The magic of this movie is not in depicting an extraordinary event or an extraordinary life, but in finding the extraordinary in the ordinary. Showing life events as they are, the butterseweetness of life and the world around us.
The director finds an amazing way to touch topics regarding politics, history, racial disadvantages, family problems and life in general from a very familiar, easy and relatable point of view, making you feel part of the moment and making you feel in the character's shoes without exagerating the tragedy or the happiness, just making you feel like like it is, just a series of good, bad, expected and unexpected events that shapes you and the ones around you.
Dont feel threatened by the language or the fact that it takes place in a foreign country, this film is about the human life experience which we can all relate to.
