I wasnt the biggest fan of the original Rollerball, but I was admittedly curious on how they would update Jewison's slightly odd 70's sci-fi pic. Not only is this 10 times worse, it makes the original look like Citizen Kane.
Chris Klein (OMG, I never thought I'd see that name AGAIN) is no James Caan, and Jean Reno is certainly no John Houseman (though amusing, once you think about it( and the story is almost nothing about the oriiginal.
Even the track has changed, what, the viewer might have thought the plain oval track to be too boring? The only thing good is the final battle, which is surprisinly brutal and therefore caught my attention, but then it gets ridiculous again.
Just one stupid clusterfart of a movie.
