Review of Rollerball (2002) by Donald L — 10 Jan 2008
That rarest of Hollywood product...the intelligent science fiction film. It suffers a little bit from the good old problem that afflicts all sci fi films: the future is always presented as a monolithic mass of near-perfect conformity.
However, Rollerball was made prior to the invention of the modern Consumerist State, so Norm can be forgiven for making a movie about a decadent society that does not possess an equally decadent selection of distractions.
