Review of Role Models (2008) by Monzi S — 15 Nov 2010
I thought that Role Models was nice film with a nice story, but to honest it wasn't anything more than "nice." Yes the story has some deep moments and all, but for me it was a bit average. Role Models is about two guys, Mr Average (Paul Rudd)and the Goof (Seann Scott-Williams), realising that there is more to life than themselves. They have the choice to either go to prison for 30 days or work with troubled kids as community service. Both hate the job, but end up growing close to the kids. I didn't think the film was extremely funny, I don't really think I laughed much, but its well-meaningness paid off. The film is decent, but only slightly above average, it's not a film that I would watch loads of times. I thought that the film would be better from the good reviews, but it wasn't as good as I previously anticipated. Just another film about two dorks who have an epiphany.
Grade: C+.
