Review of Role Models (2008) by Dave M — 11 Feb 2013
A great and simple comedy. Never goes too serious, never gets too silly. Rudd, Plasse, and the little African American kid that called me stupid when I first moved to L.A. make this movie more memorable than so many other comedies I've seen lately.
There's always an endearing sense of cynicism in Rudd's acting that drives the film's success. The R rating was an absolute necessity because there is no possible way it could've worked as a PG-13.
All the lines are naughty and quotable but never stray into nasty territory. Very well made and recommendable.
