Review of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) by Delete013 — 16 Jan 2017
A slow, clumsy start perhaps, it slowly accelerates towards a dramatic ending. At first fractioned story parts collide just before the final act to perform a crescendo of visual and emotional enjoyment.
One just must admire the timing, care and precision, accompanied by great acting, especially on behalf of the Imperial side. No candy for children or primitive nonsense for teenagers, just gritty, glorious fight against the odds. And when the movie seems to reach the finish line, there follows a phantastic insidious ending. A triumph of cinema!
I it simply amazing that a story with heavyweight background of the Star Wars would be done in such a bold manner. I cannot think of a better gift for fans of a good fantasy cinema.
