Review of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) by B W — 28 Jan 2017
Very good movie with interesting characters and plot. Makes up for the Force Awakens rehashed "destroy the Death Star" plot while also explaining why the Death Star(s) always have the same weakness.
I'm also very glad that the "royal family" of the Skywalkers is not in this one. I'm pretty sick of their antics, daddy issues, and generally bratty behavior that costs the galaxy billions of lives.
It is hard to understand why the producers and writers keep going back to the same plot devices and characters with so many other great stories available in the Star Wars comics and books. Oh wait, I forgot it is Disney.
Repeating formulas ad nauseam has served them well for 80+ years. I'm glad this movie departed a little bit from that tired, worn out formula.
