Review of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) by Ravissary79 . — 02 Apr 2017
Very good, true and faithful to the original trilogy. Love the morally gray tone as a departure from the more black and white attitude of most other SW films.
Decent characters, but the first time I saw it I was disappointed that the rebellion's assassination attempt wasn't called out harder, or that Felicity got over the tragedy in the middle of the film so quickly. I found that turn emotionally hollow. The second time around I found the plot easier to accept and the digital characters less distracting, but it's still just shy of perfect.
Despite being a more sophisticated and faithful SW film that the Force Awakens, Awakens, to me, had better characters and was better paced and was a joy to watch more than once.
