Review of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) by Bradley N — 12 Apr 2017

With Rogue One getting it Bluray release today and having now watched Rogue One six times, I can finally come to the conclusion that it's actually not that great. On first watch you don't notice that there is literally zero in terms of character background or development, the whole cast of characters are actually just hollow shells of nothingness.

Then there are plotholes galore that render the whole plot to the point of sheer non-existence when you really think about them and then there's the fucking badly done CGI Peter Cushing... Here's the thing after my first watch of Rogue One, I was like "OMG, that was everything I have ever wanted in a Star Wars prequel.

" and after repeat watchings, no matter how excellent that final Vader scene is... Rogue One is a hollow shell of a movie that tries to blind you with a feeling of false nostalgia.
