Review of Rogue (2007) by Richard M — 02 Feb 2009
Rogue is a mixed effort that had potential to stand out from the crowd, but is dragged back to the pack by a lazy and predictable final third. Otherwise, the movie benefits from rising tension, beautiful scenery and believable characters.
Smarter characters and a higher body count would have been appreciated, but I still enjoyed Rogue more than most Australian movies. Like Jaws, which it was clearly inspired by, Rogue is most successful when the monster is only glimpsed.
