Review of Rogue (2007) by Kenton M — 18 Jul 2008
Tourism with teeth. Lake Placid meets Grizzly (and for those of you who don't know that one, it was a delightful B movie rip off that replayed EVERY scene of 'Jaws', but in a national park in the Us on land. Really. Instead of the shark destroying a small boat, the bear tears a small helicopter out of the sky! Great trash!).
This film shows the Northern Territory off in a way that makes you understand why their tourism bureau invested in the movie. The monster actually wasn't monstrous enough, smaller than some crocs grow in real life.
However, the real winner are the "Lifeboat" like moment s on the tidal island - as the shore disappears beneath their feet as the night grows longer and the croc grows closer. Not a bad ensemble piece.
