Review of Rogue (2007) by Michael K — 04 Aug 2008
:fresh: :fresh: :fresh: (out of four).
What a shock and surprise that the thriller Rogue delivers the thrills while not dumbing down it's characters.
In the northern landscape of Australia, a young boat guide leads a group on a tour of the crocodile country. They wander in too far and find themselves trapped by a killer croc that is not to happy when his territory is invaded.
The film is by the director of the Aussie horror film Wolf Creek. One of the biggest surpises with the film is the way it is shot. The cinematography is stunning and it compliments the story in a way that most horror films don't do. The scenes areb tense and the effects are good, especially considering the films low budget. The finale does fall apart a little, but by then the movie has already delivered the goods.
