Review of Rogue (2007) by Joe B — 07 Aug 2008
It always amazes me that crap movies get full Hollywood releases while decent films like this get dismissed.
Much like Wolf Creek, the director really focuses on nature, interesting characters, and great cinematography to tell his story. Then he throws in a believable monster croc to eat a few unlucky souls.
I appreciated that they made a croc that doesn't run 40 mph and change in size from frame to frame. Also avoided are stock characters like the shrieking bimbo and dense frat dude.
It's a slower movie than most people might be used to but the last twenty minutes had me glued to my seat.
