Review of Rogue (2007) by Paul B — 11 Aug 2008
When it comes to horror movies, simplicity is a virtue, and this sophomore feature from "Wolf Creek" director Greg McLean proves that his gruesomely effective debut was no fluke. The template is similiar - a group of tourists stranded in the Australian outback become prey for a monster, in this case a rogue crocodile.
Once again, McLean lets the tension build slowly, lulling us into a false sense of security with gorgeous wilderness vistas, but when the croc finally begins to tear a swath through the cast, the seamless CGI is worth the wait.
